G4S acquires Montreal security integrator

G4S Canada Wednesday announced the acquisition of Montreal-based security systems company Securium Inc. G4S says the addition of Securium will enhance its security integration business, including video and access control capabilities.

“The acquisition of Securium will significantly strengthen our technology offering to our existing and prospective clients. G4S Canada ​provides high quality security services to its customers across Canada, which is now further enhanced by the addition of the Securium technology and integration skills and capabilities.​ We are certain that bringing the Securium team into G4S will continue to strengthen our commitment to being our clients trusted advisors,” said Peter Panaritis, CEO, G4S Canada in a company statement.

”G4S provided a unique opportunity to bring our innovative technology services to a wider audience,” added Joe Bozzo, president, Securium. “With a strong commitment to service excellence and a desire to grow within the security technology arena, I am confident that as our two teams collaborate, we will continue to drive technological advancements for our combined client base.“

Securium, founded in 2002, is an authorized dealer for major video surveillance, access control and intrusion manufacturers. The company also designs and provides perimeter protection solutions, including buried cable and microwave detection systems.

G4S Canada opened an office in Toronto for its secure integration division in 2016 and acquired Sudbury, Ont.-based integrator i-Vision Systems later that year.
